Wow! Seems we've both been slacking on the blog lately. It's been a month and a half since we posted anything! Trust me, it's an indication of how busy and exhausted we are...
Since our last entry, I've seen our regular doctor and her associate (2 appointments) and we've also been to the high-risk doctor one last time for what will probably be our final medically necessary ultrasound. We're still definitely having a boy (he made sure to show us again!), and everything looks wonderful and healthy and perfect. We've slacked and not scanned the pics to post yet (which is another reason the blog is behind... kept waiting for that!), but as soon as we do, I'll put them on here. He's such a cutie, we can tell already.
I'm feeling him move more and more... in fact, I think he moved almost constantly one day this week. He cracks me up... it's almost like our little secret. Those moments are so sweet and precious, and I think I'll miss that when I'm not pregnant anymore. But, of course, then I get to kiss his face and hold him, so I guess it's a pretty good trade-off, huh? Haha! I just adore this little man already, and even though I don't want him to be premature, I really just can't wait to meet him!! Sometimes, I get overwhelmed by this feeling...
We've officially chosen and announced his name, so he doesn't have to be referred to as "the boy" anymore... He will be named Caleb Ryan. In picking the name, I've researched Caleb from the Bible, and love the story and therefore connotation that goes along with his name. The very short synopsis is that Caleb had great faith in God, and was one of two allowed into the Promised Land (his story is part of the story of Moses). And, of course, his middle name is after my brother, Ryan.
I think that's most of the excitement for now... I'll leave you with the "What's Happening" update for 25 weeks (which is what I'll be tomorrow)...
Your pregnancy: 25 weeks
How your baby's growing:
Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. His weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but he's beginning to exchange his long, lean look for some baby fat. As he does, his wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and he'll start to look more and more like a newborn. His hair is probably recognizable now (in color and texture), although both may change after he's born.
