Sanibel Vacation - Part II

Friday, 31 July 2009 16:00 by Melinda

Here are more Sanibel vacation pictures...

(trying to figure out why the "tweet tweets" keep running away from her)

(he just wanted to walk and walk and walk... and walk and walk on the beach)

(and then, when we put him down, he just wanted to crawl...)

(... and crawl, and crawl...)

(... and play with shells...)

(... and play in the powdery sand...)

(and of course, crawl...)

(... and crawl!)

Playing catch-up...

Friday, 5 December 2008 11:06 by Melinda

Okay, yep- I'm officially embarrassed!  I have really slacked on the blog.  We've been incredibly busy, and just enjoying Caleb so much!

Let's see... first, we have Caleb's 4-month pictures!

Caleb is such a smiley guy!!

He's really getting used to his cereal, and even seems to enjoy it sometimes!

The weekend before Thanksgiving, we went to Indiana to visit Aunt Kristi, Uncle Derek, cousin Abby, Uncle Dave, Aunt Jess, cousin Koleson, Bobo and Pawpaw.  It was Caleb's first plane ride- he did GREAT!  We were so proud.

He liked looking out the window...

And, of course, he enjoyed getting some kisses from Mommy...

While we were there, it snowed a bit, but not enough to stick to the ground...

Abby watched out the door while Kristi took the dogs out in the crazy weather...

Though he didn't exactly love it, Caleb got used to bundling up...

The kids didn't really know what to think of each other...

Abby kept wanting to "pet" Caleb...

The babies and their mommas... it was hilarious that the kids kept looking at each other instead of the camera!

And, before we got on the plane in Indy, we met up with Great Grandma and Grandad Weger for lunch- it was so fun to see them!

(our camera battery died, so we didn't get too many pictures :()

After we returned home, Caleb celebrated his first Thanksgiving!  He started the day by watching the Macy's parade... seriously watching!

Then, of course, Mommy & Daddy had to get Caleb's picture in his Thanksgiving outfit!

Instead of Black Friday shopping, we went boating with Grandad, Grandma, and Aunt Michelle.. we had so much fun!

That Aunt Michelle, she's a funny one!

And, finally... Caleb turned 5 months old this week!!!

He LOVES his Daddy!!!

Recently, he's become very interested in our faces, carefully exploring with his hands..

We just love our little man so very much, and are so thankful to God for blessing our family with him.  Life doesn't get much better than this!

I'll leave you with the progression of Caleb in months one through five!

Interesting Bday for Melinda

Friday, 2 November 2007 16:17 by WaltDjr

Ok, first off, this is very weird for me.  I'm not a journal keeper, writer or blogger in any sense of the imagination.  However, I think I'm going to try it out for a while.

Well, a week ago today was Melinda's Bday.  We were getting ready for work and got a call from David saying that Kristi was on her way to the hospital for delivery of Abby!  So we started off the day with excitement.  At some point in the morning, I guess Melinda thought she was pregnant and tried a home pregnancy test.  Somehow the test was messed up and so at lunch she told me about it and she wanted to go the store to get another one.  Well, at some point that afternoon she called me over to her office.  When I got there she pulled out the test and it was positive.

I can't really remember the timing exactly but somewhere during that same time I got a call from David saying that Abby was born and everyone was doing well.

So we had a pretty exciting day, to say the least.

Ok so, I'm not one for showing an extreme amount of emotions.  This whole pregnancy thing for me was very mixed emotions.  I was/am excited that I'm going to be a daddy, however it wasn't in my perfect little time plan.  I wanted to have the condo sold and be in a house before we started trying to have kids.  I had figured some time around spring we would start trying.  Our timing isn't always God's timing so I accepted the fact that we were going to be parents.  Over the weekend I really started to take it to heart and have become more excited.  For example, I had to be the first to buy something...LOL  So I went and bought some Disney baby stuff late Saturday night after everyone had gone to bed.  Thank goodness because we told some people Sunday and they bought something and brought it to us Sunday night.
